Arsene Wenger has set his sights on highly rated German winger Philipp Ochs according to German newspaper Bild.
The Gunners have been linked with a hoard of strikers as Arsene Wenger continues his hunt for an accomplished forward, however the Frenchman is reportedly keen on building for the future.
His latest target is 19-year-old Ochs who bagged a hat-trick as Germany suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Portugal in the Under-19 European Championship.
Despite his team’s shortcomings in the tournament, Ochs put forth a string of fine performances something which seems to have caught the eye of Wenger’s scouting team. He made an impression at club level as well, making 13 appearances for a Hoffenheim side which finished 15th in Bundesliga last season.
Wenger will be looking for a swift resolution in order to avoid a battle with other European heavyweights. Arsenal have already secured the signature of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach as well as Takuma Asano from Sanfrecce Hiroshima and will be hoping to now boost their attacking options.
The prospective arrival of Philipp Ochs is unlikely to enhance Arsenal’s title ambitions next season. However given his talents and Arsene Wenger’s ability to mould raw talents into world beaters, the signing could prove to be a major coup.

The 19-year-olds arrival is unlikely to be greeted with excitement by the Arsenal faithful who have been seeking a signal of intent from their manager especially with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea making major strides in the transfer window.
Arsenal kick-start their pre-season campaign against RC Lens on Friday with Theo Walcott the only senior striker part of the squad. Wenger will have to add more fire-power in that area if Arsenal are to bring an end to their 12 year wait for a Premier League title.
