Lucas Torreira is reportedly en-route to London to complete his Arsenal medical after Uruguay were eliminated from the World Cup.
It’s never nice to see a team getting knocked out of the World Cup but there were probably more than a few Arsenal fans hoping to see France beat Uruguay last Friday.
The Gunners’ move for midfielder Lucas Torreira had seemingly stalled with the player focussing on the World Cup with his national team.
Since Uruguay were eliminated in the 2-0 defeat, it seems that things are progressing once again.
On Sunday, the Uruguayan FA announced that 17 of the 23 players had departed from Russia and were flying home to Montevideo.

Lucas Torreira was not one of them as, according to reports, he is currently en-route to London to complete his Arsenal medical.
Let’s hope that is the case. Lucas Torreira was excellent during the World Cup and showcased many of the traits which have been missing from Arsenal’s midfield in the last decade. Let’s hope he can bring that same performance level to the Premier League.
