The big-money contract which Arsenal handed to Mesut Ozil in January is one of the main reasons why Aaron Ramsey is set to leave the club.
It was a disappointing end to what has been yet another contract saga at Arsenal as Aaron Ramsey looks set to leave the club.
The Welshman has been with the Gunners since 2008 but will reportedly refuse to sign a new deal to remain in North London.
Now, the real reason why the 27-year-old is heading for the exit door has apparently been revealed by the UK press.
The Guardian has claimed that Ramsey’s demands for a new contract increased dramatically after Mesut Ozil was given a new £350,000/week deal last January.
It is said that Arsenal have no desire to pay Ramsey anywhere near that amount of money and will look to cash in on him in January.

It’s a familiar feeling for Arsenal fans. The club is historically awful at selling players or getting them to agree on new contracts. Hopefully, that is something which will improve in the coming seasons under the new setup.
