Reports suggest that Arsenal are ready to spend ‘much of their summer budget’ on Aaron Ramsey’s new contract (via The Telegraph).
Amid all the transfer talk, it’s important that Arsenal secure the futures of some of their key players.
Aaron Ramsey is at the top of the list with the Welshman’s current deal at the Emirates set to expire next summer.
Talks have reportedly been ongoing for several months and we reported last week that a new contract had been offered to the midfielder.
Now, reports suggest that Arsenal are ready to spend ‘much of their summer budget’ on the Welshman’s new contract offer.
Ramsey, who scored 11 goals and assisted 9 in 30 matches last season has apparently been offered a new deal which would see him double his weekly wage of £100,000.

- Dusan Vlahovic urged to complete ‘perfect’ transfer – not Arsenal
The Telegraph reports that this five-year deal would amount to £50 million in total.
Aaron Ramsey had a fantastic season last year and is deserving of a new contract. However, the reports that this would take up much of Arsenal’s summer transfer budget are unfair. The contract will not be paid in full meaning that any effect on this summer’s budget will be minimal.
