It’s a transfer which has pleased many Arsenal fans. After many years of rumours, the Gunners have finally completed the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
The club-record move was announced on Wednesday with the Gunners believed to have spent in the region of €53 million, potentially rising to €60 million.
Lacazette has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a couple of years but interest in the player seems to have increased this summer with a number of top clubs linked with the forward.
Now it has been revealed that Arsene Wenger took Lacazette out to dinner last month and convinced him to join Arsenal ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal have been tracking Lacazette for close to a decade with chief French scout Giles Grimandi following the player closely.

Now a deal has finally been wrapped for the man who scored 37 goals for Lyon last season. Hopefully, Alexandre Lacazette won’t take long to settle and we can start to see similar goalscoring levels at the Emirates next term. Credit for the signing must also be given to Arsene Wenger who is, it seems, still a massive pull for potential signings.
