Arsenal legend Ray Parlour claims his former side have to make Morgan Schniederlin their top target this summer, according to the talkSPORT.
The Southampton star is in fine form, and has been a target of ours for quite some time. The emergence of Francis Coquelin has lessened our need for a dominant defensive midfielder, but we still need to reinforce the position this summer.
Parlour claims Schneiderlin would be the perfect fit for Arsenal, and believes he is exactly the kind of player we need going forward.
“Arsenal need to get Morgan Schneiderlin if he’s available in the summer,” he is quoted as saying.
“He would be perfect. He’s a little bit like Gilberto Silva when he was at Arsenal. He can sit back into the back four and, when it’s wide, he can be another centre half. That’s so good if you can do that.

“He’s so comfortable on the ball and someone like him would be a great addition.”
After a stop-start performance in the early stages of the season, we have got ourselves into a fantastic position as we look to close out the campaign. It is highly unlikely that we will be able to displace Chelsea from top spot, but if we continue to perform the way we have been recently then second place is certainly attainable.
The Invincible ex-Arsenal star insists that we must be challenging for top honours, and believes a major investment is required this summer if we are to achieve that goal.
“There has to be big investment at Arsenal this summer,” he continued.
“They need to be challenging Chelsea and Man City, along with Liverpool and Manchester United next season.
“He [Arsene Wenger] has got to go and buy two top class players and really add to the squad. Then maybe they can challenge for the league title next season.”
Schneiderlin is certainly a player that is high on many fans’ lists, so hopefully Arsene Wenger takes the Romford Pele’s advice and gets his man.
