Summer signing Alexis Sanchez was narrowly pipped into second place for the Vitality Player of the Month award in August, but in September he went one better as Arsenal fans voted him as Arsenal’s top performer in an online poll.
The Chilean forward, who scored twice last month, claimed a whopping 48.8% of the vote making him a clear winner in the fans’ eyes.
Sanchez has proved a constant threat with his attacking play over the past month, the highlight being his stunning volley in the 2-2 draw with Champions Manchester City, whilst he also scored a stunning freekick in the Captial One Cup tie against Southampton.
In August Sanchez was pipped to the award by enigmatic youngster Calum Chambers, but this time he had to fight off the challenge of another Englishman in the form of Jack Wilshere.
Wilshere finished second in the vote, polling 14.9% while new signing Danny Welbeck impressed the fans and in turn collected 9.5% of their votes. Sanchez though was the undisputed winner, and Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Chilean can continue his excellent form over the next few months.
