Morgan Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates for a while now (via the Metro), but it looks as though we may have missed out on our long-term target.
A report from the BBC claims the Frenchman has undergone a medical at Manchester United, with a deal worth more than £25m set to be completed imminently.
The Southampton star has made it clear he wants to leave St Mary’s this summer (via the Metro), and Champions League football being on offer meant both Arsenal and United were options. Arsene Wenger will have to turn his attention to other targets however, with his compatriot seemingly set to join our Premier League rivals.
Schneiderlin has been hugely important for the Saints in recent seasons, and would have been a quality addition to the side. While Francis Coquelin’s emergence last season was superb, we are still light in the defensive midfield area. There are other options still available however, and with the transfer window only just having opened we have plenty of time to get our business done.

We are unlikely to see as much movement at the Emirates this summer, but our side still looks set to be in far better shape heading into the 2015/16 season.
