Suarez has been desperate to leave the Reds since the end of last season and Arsenal have tried to take advantage by making a £40 million plus £1 bid that was supposed to trigger a clause in the forward’s contract that allowed him to talk to interested clubs. However, Liverpool are adamant there is no such clause, prompting a furious response from Suarez.
Henry says he warned Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis before Arsenal offered 40,000,001 pounds that there was no prospect of any deal between clubs fighting for the same Champions League places. He also said it is too late even to consider a bid from overseas because there is no time to sign an alternative of Suarez’s class.
According to Mirror, he said :
We are not going to sell Luis. It’s a football reason, it’s not about finances.
It’s because at this point it’s impossible, so late in the window, with everyone who’s already moved or isn’t moving, to replace him. So for football reasons, we can’t – and especially to Arsenal.
For all the top clubs it’s extremely important but especially Liverpool because we’re not in Europe this year and have not been in the Champions League for a while.

Obviously, to sell to a rival for one of those positions would be ludicrous.
I’m unequivocal that we won’t sell to Arsenal, whatever the bid is. He won’t be sold even if a foreign club come in because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement.
The American, recently replied to Arsenal’s second bid by tweeting, “What do you think they’re smoking over there at Emirates?”. When asked directly if Suarez will be a Liverpool player on September 3, he said:
Yes. We need Luis, and hopefully this will pass.
If you look at the full context of what’s happened here, it’s jarring to all our supporters.
The club has stood by him so strongly at a time you could question whether the club should have stood by him, but they did.
So where does that leave Arsenal?. Nine days until the season starts and no sign of any top quality signings. Even though it’s still not over yet, but it is time we realize the facts we’ve not signed Jovetic, we’ve not signed Higuain and now we probably won’t sign Suarez as well. That leaves just Rooney, and it is probably time that Arsene Wenger made an official offer for the England talisman because United will surely prefer selling him to us than to Chelsea.
While Arsene Wenger gets the blame for Arsenal’s inability to sign players this summer, it is clear that Ivan Gazidis handles the negotiations from Arsenal’s end. It was Gazidis who dropped the ball on Higuain. It is Gazidis whose inability to close deals is what is really hurting the Gunners in the transfer market.
Arsenal have wasted enough time on Suarez and now it’s time to move on. They look short in almost every department and with no major signings till now it seems that we will again get those old stupid excuses from the board again. Gooners get ready to see Arsenal compete for top four AGAIN.
What say fans?
