We have once again been linked with a move for AS Roma striker Mattia Destro, with discussions over a transfer already arranged, according to the Express.

The 23-year-old has been heavily tipped to leave the Serie A side this January, and reports suggest we are competing with Liverpool and Chelsea for his signature.
With Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo having left the club on loan, we are possibly a little short in the striker department once again. Danny Welbeck is out injured, and Theo Walcott is showing signs of rust upon his return from a long spell on the sidelines. Alexis Sanchez can be deployed up front, but realistically Olivier Giroud is our only fit striker.
Despite all that however, I can’t see Arsene Wenger splashing out on a forward this winter. Defensive signings are a priority this month, and unless the right deal is waved in the Frenchman’s face, then it is more than likely we will wait until the summer to do the majority of our business.

Destro finished last term as AS Roma’s top scorer despite making just 14 Serie A starts, netting 13 goals in the process.
