Let’s be frank… Arsenal were not gonna spend €20m on a loan for Falcao, no way, never, impossible.
However, over the last week Real Madrid have sold Xavi Alonso and let him go relatively cheaply for €5m to a huge European rival. It would be foolish to think that they are not looking to balance the books and ensuring correct numbers within the squad size to chase one of their most coveted targets Falcao.
If, like reports suggest Falcao does make the move to Madrid, where will this leave Karim Benzema? It’s unlikely that he’d be delighted with it, and with Khedira apparently staying now (still don’t believe that) Real Madrid will want to look at who else they are able to sell to balance the books, especially after spending so much on James Rodriguez earlier in the summer. It seems quite obvious that Benzema would be surplus to requirements.
Wenger has made no secret that he has always liked Benzema, however from a price and a timing issue it has never really materialised. Now would be the best time for it to happen and I think there is a fair chance it will. Also, it will be a opportunity for a player to work with perhaps the best French manager of all time in Wenger and also to link up with his close friend Mesut Ozil. Also, Benzema can play that lone striker role, he also can play in different positions and is multi dimensional. He would be assured of a regular starting place as well as being a star in a very classy looking side.
This Arsenal team now is seen in a different view to perhaps how it was at the start of last season and before the signing of Ozil. The German’s signing, let’s be honest, has changed the way we are seen on a global scale in terms of our business and ambition. Players we are being linked to now are far better than those we are linked with the previous 7-8 years, something has changed and our perception has evolved.
Don't Miss:

Also, don’t be sucked into thinking that Wenger is not in the market for a striker, it would take a fool to see that we are able to cope till January without another top striker in the side, but if Wenger says that we are in the market for one now when Giroud is injured prices inflate as they think we are desperate, and whatever you may feel about Arsene he is a shrewd character.
Don’t be surprised come Monday if Arsenal don’t have another 2 Real Madrid players on the books in Benzema and Khedira, and for a relatively low fee of around £30m for the pair.
Fingers crossed it happens but if Falcao move goes ahead Benzema will be out the door. That I’d be sure of – just lets hope its to us.
Big weekend ahead me thinks…..
