Jamie Carragher believes that we cannot afford another defeat as we prepare to face Crystal Palace this weekend if we’re to sustain a Premier League title challenge, Sky Sports reports.
After suffering a shock defeat to West Ham United on the opening weekend, we face yet another London derby on Sunday with Alan Pardew’s side standing between us and our first three points of the season.
Given the optimism surrounding the club heading into the new season, very few are writing us off yet in terms of a potential title challenge, but another defeat could potentially be damaging.
Arsenal transfer news
“It is not the end of the world, Arsenal losing their first game, but they would not want to lose two out of two, and certainly not against teams we would not call giants of the Premier League in West Ham and Palace,” Carragher said.
“So it would be a really poor start for them if they did and I am sure they will be desperate to get three points on the board.”

After losing to Aston Villa in our opening game of the 2013/14 season, we went on an amazing run in the Premier League leading us to top the table for the majority of the season.
Though there’s no guarantee that we can repeat that feat, a win against Crystal Palace will reinstate the confidence our squad went into the season with.
Cut out the silly errors, and we can certainly record another Premier League win at Selhurst Park.
