The Gunners got off to a blistering start last season and were top of the table for the majority of the winter but injuries began to dictate the clubs season and they quickly faded away finishing fourth ultimately.
The Gunners ended the season on a high though with the FA Cup win, but injuries to key players Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott made the second half of the campaign difficult for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Sol Campbell believes his former side can go one further in the Premier League title race this season, but they must keep their stars fit otherwise they face a similar fate.
According to Goal.com, he said:
We mainly want to be strong from start to finish this season. Last year we just faded in the middle when we got a few injuries at the wrong time and things went against us. When we got some players returning at the back-end of the year we produced again.
Fingers crossed injuries will not hit the strength and depth of our squad too much and then we can make a charge and hopefully win another trophy.

If you look at the fact we lost Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain at the wrong point of the season. In the middle of the season we lost four of our dynamic players.
We need to get those players back fully fit – as we have with some of them and get everyone firing on all cylinders through the whole season and then add new players into the mix, which we are doing.
If you look at how close we were to the top of the table towards the end of last season when we got the players back fit and if we can get a cohesive and injury free season and add some more then yes, I don’t see why we can’t push for the Premier League title.
We have got the players, we just need to make sure we are all there because you cannot go a whole season and win the Premier League without that depth, a strong bench and options who can offer something different without the level dropping. That is what we have got to do and it looks like they are doing it now.
Arsenal finished just seven points behind champions City despite the long term injuries to key players. The North London club have also tried to rectify the issue by bringing in Germany’s fitness coach Shad Forsythe and hopefully this move will solve our injury troubles.
The club have also learned their lesson and got the cheque book out early this summer by signing Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina, Callum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez. They have already bought in the replacements we needed and have also solved last year’s main problem of a lack of pace by the signing of Alexis. His signing will not only boost the team but also get the best out of Ozil.
The Gunners also ended their trophy drought in May by winning the FA Cup and followed that up by beating City in the Community Shield in August. This will give the players and club massive confidence which will benefit them greatly in their quest for the League title. If we could possibly add a defensive midfielder and a centre-back before the transfer window ends then we will be strong enough to win the League title this season.
