The 17 year old joined the Gunners youth academy from Barcelona last summer and has featured for both the Under-18’s and Under-19’s this season.
The Club said on its official website:
The Spaniard has featured at right-back and centre-back during his first season in England and has also faced his former side Barca during Arsenal’s run to the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals. He has also been part of the side that’s made it to the last four of the FA Youth Cup, where they lost to Chelsea in the first leg.
He is the second Arsenal prospect to commit himself to the club in recent months. The highly rated Gideon Zelalem signed his first professional contract in March having made his first team debut in the 4-0 victory over Coventry City in the FA Cup fourth round.
Julio is a dependable and versatile defender, who is a good reader of the game is also very comfortable in possession while he also has great pace for a defender and is excellent in the air too.
Hopefully he will continue his development over the next couple of years and may be push for a place in the first team squad in the future. Can he make a name for himself at Arsenal?
