In total 12 players from Arsenal represented their nations in either World Cup qualifiers, Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers or International friendlies in the recent International break. Below are the stand-out performers from the Emirates along with videos of their performances.
Abou Diaby featured in France’s first World Cup qualifier against Finland and would turn out to the deciding factor in the match by scoring the sole goal of the game. Diaby also played an integral part in the French midfield, using his physicality and distributing to good effect. Unfortunately the Frenchman sustained a thigh strain and looks doubtful for the clash against Southampton this weekend. Below is Diaby’s game against Finland.

Gervinho was a stand-out performer in the Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier which ended up a 4-2 victory over Senegal. The Arsenal winger used his driving runs to great effec and boasted a goal and two assists for the match. The Ivorian was unlucky not to make it three assists after a late goal by Didier Drogba was ruled offside, but will no doubt be pleased with his contribution. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had an excellent game against Moldova using a combination of his driving runs down the wing and his ability to play in-field through the center of the park. The youngster was duly rewarded for drifting in-field after he put through a great through ball for Defoe to score England’s third. Chamberlain also played 68 minutes of England’s 1-1 draw with Ukraine, although the youngster was unable to replicate his performance. Below is Chamberlain’s match against Moldova.
