Arsenal host Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening in what should be a very one-sided affair. The Gunners have it all to play for as they chase a sliver of hope to finish within the top four, while Sunderland are relegated and look horribly out of sorts under David Moyes.
Arsene Wenger’s record against the former Everton boss is quite impressive. The Frenchman has beaten Moyes on 15 occasions, the most of any manager Moyes has faced according to BBC.
When you throw in the fact Arsenal have never actually lost a home Premier League tie against Sunderland, winning ten and drawing five, placing one of the latest betting offers at Freebets.co.uk on this tie doesn’t seem such a bad idea. Especially one on Giroud to score given he’s netted three times in his last two appearances.
Olivier Giroud is closing in on 50 goals at Emirates Stadium, just two other Gunners have managed the feat since the move from Highbury – Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott – while he is just two shy of netting 98 goals for the Gunners.
While Arsenal have had a massive dip in form during 2017, they have lost just one match at home in their last 16, the 2-1 defat to Watford in January. Recently they’ve managed to keep three consecutive clean sheets at home, while Sunderland have failed to net in 10 of their last 15 Premier League away fixtures, and have struggled to find the target in 19 games this season.
Of course it’s Arsenal, and you can never take anything for granted especially in the Premier League. Look at what happened last season with Newcastle against Sp*rs. However it’s pretty clear Sunderland are worse than a drunk Sunday league side in Stoke right now. The Gunners can afford no complacency and must be fired up from the off to build upon the last few valuable wins.
