Mesut Özil has been in scintillating form recently, and has been assisting his Arsenal teammates left, right, and centre. His creativity has been so good in fact, that the stats show he now boasts the best games per assist rate in Premier League history.
The German playmaker got his seventh assist of the season against Everton earlier, lofting a superb ball into the box for Olivier Giroud to put a deft header past Tim Howard.
That assist not only means he’s the top assister in the league this season, but also that he’s the most creative in Premier League history.
The World Cup winner now has a record of one assist every 2.71 games, a truly impressive feat.

Özil didn’t enjoy the best first season in England, and he clearly struggled to adapt to the physicality of the league. He is well and truly settled in the English top flight now however, and is showing arguably his best form in an Arsenal shirt.
