Olivier Giroud has been much maligned at Arsenal over the years, and our lack of a world class striker has seen the Frenchman used as a scapegoat regularly. He is unquestionably on a hot-streak at the moment though, and his contributions since he arrived in 2012 have been excellent.
The powerful forward also boasts a rather impressive record, having scored more headed goals (15) than any other player since he signed for Arsenal in 2012.
15 – Since making his Premier League debut in August 2012, Olivier Giroud has scored more headed goals than any other player (15). Tête.

Giroud has a number of shortcomings, his lack of pace being an obvious one. But his aerial ability is certainly a strength, and more often than not he is able to out-muscle, out-jump, and out-head his opponents.
Arsenal transfer news
He has been scoring freely recently, both from the bench and when given the chance to start. Theo Walcott’s injury (via Arsenal.com) means he is now our only option up front, and we’ll be heavily reliant on him in the coming weeks. Hopefully he can keep up his fine form, starting with another goal against German giants Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
