Olivier Giroud has been receiving a huge amount of praise for his goalscoring recently, and statistics show he is actually playing better than Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment.
The powerful target-man has unquestionably been in breathtaking form since his return from injury, and is arguably the most in form Premier League striker in 2015.
His brace against Newcastle made it nine goals in his last nine games, while netting 11 times in total since the turn of the year.
Ronaldo was enjoying some of the best form of his career at the start of the season, but has tailed off recently (at least by his lofty standards).

Giroud has surpassed the Portuguese star in almost every way, and clearly deserves the plaudits he has been receiving.
The fact that our French forward offers so much more than just goals shows just how fantastic he has been as of late.
His hold-up and link-up play has been fantastic, and aside from a poor showing in the first leg against AS Monaco he has been in sublime form. He is integral to the way we play, and we look a far better team with him in the side.
Hopefully he can continue this fine form after the international break, and help us finish the season strongly as we continue the hunt for FA Cup glory and Premier League success.
