Steven Gerrard has said that Aaron Ramsey should be “embarrassed” by his reaction to the altercation with Edinson Cavani last night. Cavani was caught on camera hitting Ramsey with what appeared to be a punch but no punishment was taken on the Uruguayan.
Well, he could be about to return to English football and Steven Gerrard is back hitting the headlines. This time, the former Liverpool man criticised Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey for the way he reacted to the confrontation with Edinson Cavani. The PSG striker was caught on camera appearing to punch Ramsey in the face. The Arsenal man then clutched the area affected but that hasn’t gone down well with Gerrard.
Who cares? Cavani does. Did he punch Ramsey in the face here? #AFCvPSG pic.twitter.com/zosAQMHivw

“I think he should be a little embarrassed by that,” Gerrard said on BT Sport. “I thought the Welsh are meant to be tough.”
Rio Ferdinand was another panellist and the former Manchester United man echoed Gerrard’s thoughts.
“I think there was a bit of over-reacting from Ramsey,” Ferdinand said. “I think if he was a foreign player we’d be going mad.”

Ramsey, meanwhile, has played down the altercation.
“Those things happen on the pitch, but it’s fine – we shook hands at the end and it’s nothing,” said the Arsenal man.
“I think (he hit me), but these things happen in the heat of the moment. I’ve got no issues with it.”
Overreaction or not, Cavani’s actions went unpunished and maybe Arsenal fans would’ve felt a lot more aggrieved had the Uruguayan striker finished one of the many chances he had late on.
