According to news out of Italy, the decision on whether Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi joins Arsenal or Manchester City is up to his wife.
The 22-year-old Inter captain has not been guaranteed a starting place in Roberto Mancini’s team, leading to speculation that he could be about to leave the Serie A club for life abroad.
Italian sports website Tuttosport is claiming that a deal is already in place with both Arsenal and Manchester City and that it is now up to Icardi’s Argentinian celebrity wife Wanda Nara to decide which team she wants to see her husband play for.
Meanwhile, the Metro is suggesting that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already had a bid of £28.8 million rejected for the former Sampdoria forward, but will continue with his attempts to bring Icardi to the Emirates.
While this story on the face of it sounds a bit far-fetched, both the aforementioned websites fail to point out that Icardi fired his agent of ten years Abian Moreno back in October and handed all his business dealing over to his 29-year-old model wife Wanda Nara, according to the Daily Mail.
While we all know Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been on the lookout for a striker, Icardi hardly meets the profile of a player that would do well working with Arsene Wenger. He doesn’t seem like the manager’s sort of player given his problematic history, which leads us to believe that there is no interest on the part of Arsenal in signing him.

He would also cost a huge amount considering what he currently brings to a side, and while we would obviously be paying for potential too, it’s hard to justify the massive expenditure.
