Over the past two weeks the Champions League has displayed some of the finest talent Europe has to offer. As usual, the transfer rumors are circulating and all major European clubs are linked with a host of stars including Arsenal.
Some men in particular caught the eye during the round of 16. Here’s a list of a selection of talent that should be of particular interest to the Gunners.
Fabio Henrique-Fabinho
Since joining Monaco from Real Madrid in 2013 he has turned into a stable of the Monaco midfield. Still only 23 years old, he has been an exceptional deep-lying midfielder who truly ties a team together.
Our midfield has been a calamity this year and I would love for him to make the switch to the Emirates. In the 2016-2017 season he is averaging 3.2 tackles per contest and boasting a pass completion percentage of 85.1%.(via Whoscored.com) His ability to do both is precisely what Arsenal is lacking. Xhaka’s ability to pass with Coquelin’s ability to tackle in a one-man Brazilian powerhouse.
Antoine Griezmann
This might seem like a long shot but I do believe that it is a possibility. With every game fueling the “will Alexis Sanchez stay?” fire, it seems less and less likely. His body language during and after games, accompanied with the capitulation against Bayern Munich might have spelled the end.
Atletico Madrid have been interested in Sanchez for some time and we need to get TOP dollar for him if he decides to leave. While swap deals are rare I think we can tempt Atleti here. Already scoring 24 goals and contributing 10 assists he is a superstar and my ideal replacement if Sanchez leaves. A player of Griezmann’s caliber would really take the edge off of losing a player in the class of Sanchez.

Kylian Mbappe
Another Monaco player who impressed, and Arsenal could realistically obtain, during their incredible match against Man City. Only eighteen years old he has 12 goals and five assists in Ligue 1 so far. Therefore, the whispers are becoming louder and louder regarding the comparison to him and Thierry Henry.
Gifted with blistering pace he is one of Europe’s elite young players. We seem to be facing stiff competition to sign him but he could be worth his weight in gold.
Massimiliano Allegri
If we are to lose Arsene Wenger this summer we need a manager of the highest quality to succeed him. Having won the Scudetto twice and runners up to Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League campaign – he holds the pedigree Arsenal need.
Gooners have been crying out for a more tactical approach to the big games and Allegri is one of the best in the world.
Gooners, what do you think about these potential summer signings?
Who would you add or remove from the list?
