Sky Sports are reporting that Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat wants Liverpool assistant manager, Zeljko Buvac to be the Gunners’ new head coach (via Sky Sports).
Reports linking Zeljko Buvac with the soon-to-be-vacant manager’s position at Arsenal been in the air for a couple of days.
The first reports came out of Buvac’s native Bosnia where Pravda BL claimed that Buvac was on his way to the Emirates.
Buvac has been an assistant to Jurgen Klopp for some 16 years and has been described by the German as “the brain” behind his success.
Earlier this week, Liverpool announced that the Bosnian has taken a break from first-team duties with the club citing personal reasons.
Now, Sky Sports are reporting that Buvac is the first choice of Arsenal’s head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat after the pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

Sky are claiming that Mislintat believes a three-man structure of himself, Buvac and Arsenal’s head of football relations, Raul Sanllehi as the best route to success at Arsenal.
Not much is known about Zeljko Buvac but it’s interesting to see that he has seemingly been given the seal of approval from Sven Mislintat. The German clearly has an influential role at Arsenal and perhaps his advice will be heeded by the man who brought him to the Emirates, Ivan Gazidis. Perhaps it isn’t totally out of the question that Zeljko Buvac will be the next manager of Arsenal.
