Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, manager Arsene Wenger revealed the team news ahead of the weekend game against Watford (via Arsenal.com). The Gunners return to action in the Premier League after a two week hiatus, and the international break has been very kind to us in terms of injuries.
Most of our players who were injured heading into the break seem to have recovered, with Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini back in full training. Meanwhile injury doubts Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina and Joel Campbell have played for their national teams and issued with clean bills of health.
Our only concern is French defender Laurent Koscielny, who faces a fitness test tomorrow. Should he pass, he will be available for the next game, as per the manager.
Wenger said, “Koscielny has a slight chance to be back on Saturday. He has a definite test tomorrow.
“Arteta and Flamini are back in full training. We need to see how they are and how confident they are, but we can’t rule it out.
“From the internationals we only have positive news. We are still waiting for Campbell, Alexis and Ospina to return, but they all texted back to say they are OK, so we just have to see if they were objective in their assessment.”

Our long term injury list is the same – Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are nowhere close to returning yet. However, considering the all too frequent injuries that happen over the course of the international break, we have been extremely lucky this time around.
