The League Cup kicks off for the Gunners on Wednesday evening with Arsenal welcoming League 1 side Doncaster Rovers to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger has so often looked to youth to feature in this competition and we don’t expect much to change this year, especially after the manager’s press conference.
“Yes [it will be a mix],” Wenger confirmed. “But it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne.

“Danny [Welbeck] has a scan today, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break. Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly.
“Mesut [Özil] is training again, but for tomorrow no [he will not feature]. He has a little inflammation of his knee.”
Wenger also confirmed that both Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere are set to feature in the match.
So it’s mostly good news on the injury front. Mesut Özil is back in training and the likes of Coquelin, Debuchy and maybe even Danny Welbeck are close behind. Presumably, we will find out more about the Englishman’s injury in the coming days.
