Arsenal have provided an update on the fitness of Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace (via Arsenal.com).
Team News – Match Reports – Player Ratings
Match: Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Venue: Selhurst Park
Kick-Off (UK Time): 12:30 11/01/2020
It’s another Premier League clash for Arsenal as the Gunners look to continue their recent turnaround in form.
Mikel Arteta has re-energised the team and the Gunners finally look like a team going in the right direction for the first time in a long time.
Crystal Palace are Saturday’s opponents in the return fixture of a match which represented Arsenal’s real low-point this season.
Now, the Gunners will want to make a big turnaround and the club has provided its team news ahead of the match.
Arsenal confirmed Calum Chambers will be out for the rest of the season with a ruptured ACL and that Kieran Tierney is scheduled to return to the first-team in March.
Meanwhile, Hector Bellerin was pictured in first-team training this morning and he is being assessed ahead of the Palace game.
“I don’t think we will get anyone back in the squad,” Mikel Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.
“We have a few that are going to be 50/50 for the following game probably but not much news.”
It’s a shame that Calum Chambers will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured ACL. It’s the third time in two years that an Arsenal defender has suffered from the injury during the busy festive period. Let’s hope that the club can get to the bottom of it before losing any others.
