Denis Suarez hasn’t travelled with the rest of his Arsenal teammates to Napoli after picking up an injury (via Arsenal.com).
Team News – Player Ratings – Match Highlights
Match: Napoli v Arsenal
Stadium: San Paolo Stadium
Kick-Off (UK Time): 20:00 18/04/2019
It’s fair to say that things haven’t exactly worked out for Denis Suarez during his several months at Arsenal.
The Spaniard signed for the Gunners in January and has made just a handful of appearances in all competitions, mostly from the bench.
Now, the club has confirmed the team news for this week’s major Europa League showdown with Napoli in Italy and it seems as if Denis Suarez won’t be a part of it.
The Spaniard has stayed in London to recover from a groin injury, something which his agent commented on earlier in the week.
“He has two years left at Barcelona. This year in England hasn’t been his best. He’s played little and hasn’t been able to find a rhythm. At the moment, he’s injured. He has muscle fatigue and an injury,” Felix Guende told Spanish radio before discussing rumours linking his client with a move to Napoli.
“We’re awaiting the results from the exams. Napoli? The interest is always appreciated, being a team that has been fighting for the top positions for years. It’s a bit soon to talk about the transfer window, but we aren’t excluding anything.”
Denis Suarez hasn’t really fulfilled his promise at Arsenal and it’s doubtful whether his long-term future is at the club. It was unlikely that he would even be involved in this fixture but perhaps this so-called injury could be the end of his time at the club.
