According to widespread reports, including the more reputable Sky Sports, Deadline Day loan signing Kim Kallstrom is set to miss Arsenal’s next five fixtures due to a back injury the Gunners were aware of when signing the midfielder.
Arsenal have yet to confirm the injury, however he is not expected to be part of the squad to face Crystal Palace on Sunday due to his back problem.
He apparently sustained the original injury in a beach football session for Spartak Moscow in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, with a CT scan during the medical examination revealing minor damage to his lower back.
He has since aggravated the problem in training with the Gunners and is set for a spell on the sidelines, which begs the question why Arsene even bothered to bring him in?
Here is the list of confirmed absences for Arsenal’s tie with Crystal Palace:
Wilshere (ankle), Flamini (suspension), Ramsey (thigh), Walcott (knee), Diaby (knee), Sanogo (match fitness)
Friday was a bit of a disaster on the transfer front, and now the potential to lose the only signing for the set of fixtures we actually needed him for is extremely disappointing and a bit of a joke. What the hell is the point in having a medical and signing a crocked player?
Wenger will be addressing the issue before/after the Palace fixture, however it’s time to get behind the lads and beat our fellow Londoners.
