The news of losing Jack Wilshere for at least eight weeks is still fresh in our minds, but at least Mr Kim Kallstrom is nearing fitness and could make his debut at somepoint in the next week or two, while our Player of the Season Aaron Ramsey should also be fit for the upcoming North London Derby.
There is also one massive question mark, Laurent Koscielny suffered a hamstring problem while on international duty, ruling him out of France’s friendly. The centre back is set for a fitness test today to determine whether he will be available for the Gunners FA Cup clash with Everton this weekend. Thomas Vermaelen should be available to replace the Frenchman however.
Ramsey’s return couldn’t come soon enough with Wilshere suffering a hairline fracture in his left foot, while experienced international Kallstrom could provide some reinforcement after recovering from his back injury sustained prior to his January transfer deadline day signing.
Fingers crossed for Koscielny.
Wenger revealed the following team news ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final with Everton at Emirates Stadium:
[on the team news] Apart from Jack, we have a doubt about Koscielny who has come back with a hamstring problem and didn’t play for France. All the other players came back in a good shape.

[on the chance of Koscielny playing[ His scan is clear but we will have to test him today.
[on Wilshere playing again this season] Yes [I expect him to]. There are 11 weeks to go, he will be out for six before he can absorb normal training. His injury will not stop him working on fitness so two weeks after [the first six weeks] he should be competitive. That means the maximum for him to be competitive in a game is eight weeks.
[on the return of Ramsey and Kallstrom] Aaron Ramsey is one week away. I think the next two games are coming too soon for him but for the weekend after [against Tottenham] he should be available. Kallstrom as well.
Predicted lineup to follow…
