There is good news for Gooners as Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen will be available for selection against Liverpool.
The Belgian center-back looked to have picked up a serious injury after Ramsey collided with him after completing a goal-line clearance, but it seems things are not as bad as first feared.
As expected all first-team players that were rested at Brighton are available, although it is hard to determine whether Diaby will be selected to start given he played the entire 90 minutes on Saturday. If fit, he would certainly be the preferred option over Ramsey.
Mikel Arteta and Francis Coquelin still remain absent and could remain on the sidelines for Arsenal’s upcoming game against Stoke on Saturday.
Wenger revealed the following team news:
[on the changes for Liverpool]
Thomas Vermaelen is back available. And the players who were rested are back in contention, too.[on Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta]
They are a bit short – 100 per cent [they are unavailable] for Wednesday. Even for Saturday [they could be short], but there is a little chance they will be available at the weekend.
