Arsene Wenger has given the latest injury update ahead of Arsenal’s Champions league clash against Anderlecht at the Emirates tomorrow. Wenger and captain Mikel Arteta addressed the assembled media and talked about various issues ranging from Arsenal’s start, Walcott, Alexis. Unfortunately they didn’t discuss about who is wackiest of the two, Mourinho or Terry.
Jack Wilshere is out for tomorrow’s game and it’s no surprise given his injury record. But it’s not the ankle this time, the midfielder is unavailable because he is unwell. Arsene Wenger assured that Wilshere will be fit for the weekend.
All is not bad though, Wenger was quite optimistic about his long term absentees and believes that Arsenal are at the ‘end of the tunnel’. Hopefully we don’t get into another one once we get out of the present one.
Wenger told arsenal.com
He [Wilshere]has been sick and he will not be involved tomorrow. Yes, [he should be fit for the weekend]. The squad is exactly the same that played against Burnley.
We had Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Mathieu Debuchy and Mesut Ozil injured but they are slowly all getting better. Theo is the first to come back but I believe we are at the end of the tunnel.
Arsene Wenger last weekend indicated that Giroud should be available for full training after the international break and given that he’s quite positive on other injuries we expect the other players to return by the start of the festive period. Seems like Shad Forsythe is working his magic behind the doors. The last time we had all our players fit, the dinosaurs roamed and our earth was a whole lot younger.
