The last few days have been excellent for Arsenal Football Club but that could be about to change. The post-FA Cup success optimism could soon be replaced by glum at the Emirates.
The Times are reporting that both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil want to leave the club, despite claims that the pair has been offered bumper new deals.
Both players’ contracts expire next summer and have been in reported negotiations for over twelve months.
There was growing optimism that the pair would agree to new deals now that it appears certain that Arsene Wenger will be in the dugout next season.
Sanchez and Özil are two of the most important players at the club with the Chilean especially showing his worth this season as the club’s top scorer.

The report, written by deputy football correspondent Matt Hughes claims that Alexis Sanchez is keen on sealing a move to German champions Bayern Munich this summer, while Mesut Özil wants to run his contract down and secure a free transfer next year.
It remains to be seen how accurate this report is but it’s hardly a good sign. It would be an absolute disaster for Arsenal to lose Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez at this crucial point. It’s a crossroads summer for the Gunners and things will undoubtedly go in a backwards direction if both players were to leave.
