Mesut Ozil, after a lacklustre start to the season against West Ham United, firmly stamped his arrival on this new Premier League campaign with a sensational display against Crystal Palace.
In what was a tight affair and a keenly contested London derby, Ozil was a calm influence in the final third and the stats behind his performance are just scandalous.
According to the official Match of the Day Twitter account, Ozil completed 54 of his 55 passes throughout the game, which is, quite frankly, obscene.

In the position he operates and the type of player he is, the efficiency in those passes is extraordinary given that the German wizard often looks for the killer pass.
Squawka subsequently states that Ozil registered a passing accuracy of 98%, including his lovely cross which allowed Olivier Giroud to volley home.

Also, Squawka’s stats claim that Ozil created the most clear chances in the whole of the Premier League over the weekend, another indication of his sensational passing.

It seems as though the general public is starting to gravitate towards Ozil and what he actually stands for as a football player. He is a graceful player, who is constantly looking at how he can assist the team with his natural creativity rather than claim the glory by attempting the spectacular.
If only we had a killer striker to benefit from his passes.
