It was a near perfect month in April that saw us win all games except against Chelsea which was frankly.. Quite boring. Will I be sued for calling Chelsea boring? The way things are going at the moment, it’s likely to happen.
In this double paged article I will be listing the five key players in the month of April.
Mesut Ozil
Ever since returning to the side from injury the former Real Madrid man has looked fitter and stronger, he seems to even love the physical aspect of the English game now. He’s tracking back without really tracking, he’s winning challenges that he previously would have not competed at all. People are also beginning to understand the German’s game much better. He doesn’t take the game by the scruff of the neck but he influences by his movement off the ball and his laser sharp precision on it. His £42 million pass to Alexis at Wembley was a piece of art. I am sure if his pass can be morphed into some kind of artwork, people will be bidding his rather exuberant price tag. He also created the most chances in that game, an FA Cup record in fact. Although he couldn’t help Arsenal win against Mourinho and his merrymen his performances against Liverpool and Reading were simply too superb to ignore.
Nacho Monreal
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state that Nacho Monreal has been our best defender this season. He has had a splendid season and it’s nice to see that fans are finally appreciating what the Spaniard does. He’s extremely consistent, his stint at centre back has improved his positional awareness and made him stronger in the challenges and he seems to have that knack of knowing when to go forward and his final ball is actually good.
Don't Miss:

Kieran Gibbs for me is neither good at defending nor is technically decent enough in the attack as well. He’s good at straying forward even ahead of Cazorla and Ozil.
Monreal was simply too good against Liverpool and against Chelsea he had an excellent game. The Reading game is a testament to Monreal’s quality, without him we looked so suspect in the left hand side and it was no wonder that the Reading goal came from a mistake by Kieran Gibbs.
