Theo Walcott has made a bold claim, insisting that we have been Europe’s best team in 2015.
The England international has struggled to regain his place in the side since returning from injury, but was still full of praise for the rest of the Arsenal squad.
“Not many people thought we’d be second [a position we will hopefully retake from Manchester City] and challenging for the Premier League,” he is quoted as saying on Arsenal’s officials website.
“In this calendar year, we’ve been the best team in Europe. It’s the strongest the squad has been and everyone is staying fit as well. There aren’t many injuries in the squad, which is important. If we had an injury-free season, I think we could lift the title.”
Our fantastic run has certainly seen us propelled upwards, with our goalless draw against Chelsea putting an end to an eight match winning streak.

It might be a bit of a stretch to say we have been Europe’s best however, as our disappointing Champions League exit has left us watching on as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Juventus fight for European supremacy.
We need to make sure we can keep our performance levels high, and prove that we have the consistency to be one of the top teams in football.
FA Cup glory and a 2nd placed finish would still represent a positive season, and we already can’t wait until next one.
