Arsenal were very quiet during the summer transfer window in terms of signing new players, despite almost a dozen players making an Emirates exit. Everybody was expecting Arsene Wenger to sign a star striker like Karim Benzema in order to help Alexis Sanchez in the forward department, but nothing came to fruition. In fact, there were very few strikers linked to Arsenal other than Benzema, and many fans pinned their hopes on the Frenchman making the switch to North London.
With that in mind, I’ve come up with three quality strikers that Arsenal could pick and be happy with according to my personal opinion. Interestingly, I came up with the idea while playing a football slot that I found at this online casinos review site.
Here goes:
Karim Benzema
A very obvious choice. In fact Benzema has been linked with Arsenal since he was at Olympique Lyon seven or more years ago. He was seemingly Wenger’s first choice during the summer. If Real Madrid manages to sign Sergio Aguero, Benzema will presumably be the first one to go. He is a player that can add plenty of experience and quality to the Gunners’ strike force. On top of that, he will be playing alongside his countryman Olivier Giroud who was recently booed by the fans, and the Premier League might be a tempting challenge for him considering he has never played there. Now that Manchester United has signed Martial, the competition for Benzema is lighter.

Edinson Cavani
Some say that Cavani’s career has taken a sharp downturn in recent years, but I don’t think so. He is still going strong. Only last season he scored 18 league goals for PSG, and during the writing of this his statistics say that he has appeared 6 times and scored 5 goals so far this season. If he is looking for a new challenge, then Arsenal is the best place for that. After all, Wenger is an admirer of Cavani, but the only problem is his price which is reportedly £50 million, which may be a bit too much for a player of his profile.
Gonzalo Higuain
Higuain was actually a target of Wenger’s back in 2013 and now may be a good moment to reignite his interest in this experienced Argentinian because Napoli are prepared to sell him. Higuain’s problem in Napoli is Benitez’s departure and the lack of Champions League football, a perfect moment for Arsenal to step up and make an offer. Higuain is a proven striker, reliable, and can guarantee many goals. However, Higuain too has a price tag of £40 million.
Another player that comes to mind is Alexandre Lacazette. He was on fire in the French Ligue 1 last year scoring 27 goals, he is 24 years old and has lots of potential, but Lyon will not settle for anything lower than £40m. However, that £40m is totally worth it if we see Lacazette’s talent as a good investment.
