The Viola’s top scorer has been consistently linked with the Gunners all year, with reports recently suggesting the 23-year-old has held advanced talks with Arsene Wenger’s side ahead of a proposed summer move to England’s capital.
Jovetic has come under some criticism of late as his goal-less streak continues, his last finish coming in March, and Toni has called for the support of the player who is enduring a tough period.
The Italian veteran said of his Montenegrin club-mate in a recent press conference:
Stevan feels the Fiorentina fans treat him without love.
Everybody says that the player’s struggles will end when he starts scoring again.
The way I see it in this difficult period is that Jovetic is only supported when he is making a difference on the field. At the moment, there is no enthusiasm towards him – he does not feel loved.
Fiorentina are in a similar situation to the Gunners – fighting hard for a champions league place and the situation is not helped with Jovetic continuing to draw a blank.

He has however scored 12 times in 29 appearances this season, not entirely prolific but similar stats to Arsenal’s Theo Walcott who is the clubs top scorer in the League with 13 goals in 22 starts with 8 appearances from the bench.
He also age on his side, he’s only 23, has been linked and scouted by the likes of Manchester City which also bodes well for the credibility of his talent. Personally I’d like to see this rumour eventuate and the news that he’s not enjoying life in Italy will boost Arsenal’s likelihood of signing him this summer.
