Tottenham Hotspur, the club forever in our shadow, have a fan-base so deluded that they’ve wagered a number of bets on Morgan Schneiderlin to join them ahead of us this summer, the Daily Star reports.

Schneiderlin has been instrumental for Southampton this season with the south-coast club fighting for Champions League football for the majority of the campaign.
However, their season has since petered out and it will be difficult for them to hold onto their most prized asset this summer.
Arsenal transfer news
“Rumours have been circulating linking the 25-year-old Frenchman to almost every big club in the Premier League and Arsenal have been leading the charge in the betting, with them accounting for 70 per cent of all of bets taken,” Betfair trader Michael Bowers was quoted as saying.

“But today has seen enormous support for their North London rivals and we’ve been forced to cut Spurs from 10/1 to 6/4 favourites.”
What makes this quite laughable is the fact that they’re hoping the pull of reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino will be too difficult to turn down, despite only working under him for one full season – hardly a father and son relationship.
Also, Schneiderlin has made it known that he’s desperate to play in Europe’s premier club competition, something Spurs can’t offer and, quite possibly, won’t be able to offer in the near future.
“I no longer want to be in front of my TV every Tuesday and Wednesday,” the 25-year-old was quoted as saying (via the Mirror).
Note to Spurs – he wouldn’t want to be playing on Thursday nights either.
