Arsenal have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Barcelona winger Pedro, as the 27-year-old has reportedly decided that his future lies in Serie A rather than the Premier League.
According to the Daily Express, the Spaniard has chosen to link up with former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan, and could leave the Nou Camp for around £12m.
The Express suggest that Pedro – who has been with the Catalan giants for 11 years and has played in nearly 200 La Liga games – had become tired of not being given a chance this season, as head coach Luis Enrique has preferred to rely on the front three of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez. Despite featuring in 29 league fixtures this campaign, 16 of those games have been from the substitutes’ bench for the club’s forgotten man.
His unhappiness had alerted several sides across Europe. We were reportedly joined in the race for the player by Liverpool and Manchester United, however it now appears that all three have missed out.
