We have recently been linked with a January transfer move for Celta Vigo striker Nolito, and the Spanish international has now responded to the rumours, as reported by the Express. He claims he’s happy where he is, but his comments suggest he doesn’t want to shut any doors.
The 28-year-old has been in excellent form for Celta, and has attracted the attention of a number of clubs. He has a £13m release clause (via the Express), a fee Arsene Wenger is allegedly willing to meet.
Nolito hasn’t ruled out a move this January, but insists that at the moment he is happy where he is. It’s a pretty standard response from a player who doesn’t want to burn any bridges, and it certainly suggests that a transfer isn’t impossible.
“I am relaxed and helping Celta as much as I can,” Nolito said.
“I have disconnected from everything they say about me. I always try to be happy and relaxed. So, in this respect, I am trying to be the same.
“I don’t know if I am in the best moment of my career, but I am happy and I feel good. Things are going well, I can’t complain, but I think that best is still to come.”

Nolito has been steadily improving since he left Barcelona in 2011, and has recently hit his best form yet. It’s questionable whether he’s the striker we need though, as he arguably isn’t a real upgrade on what we have.
Arsenal transfer news
We are lacking a world class striker, not another squad player, so perhaps we should be aiming far higher than someone the calibre of Nolito.
