Reports suggesting former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas may move back to the Premier League are starting to gather steam.
Fabregas has been in reasonable form while playing at the Nou Camp, but has not lived up to expectations following his drawn-out transfer from Arsenal.
While Gooners may licking their lips at the prospect of Fabregas returning to Arsenal, reports suggest that new Manchester United manager David Moyes has made Fabregas one of his top targets to shore up his midfield.
ESPN report that Manchester United sources have told them directly that United has been in discussions with Barcelona over Fabregas and Thiago.
Fabregas is understood to be on the fence over a move, as he has strong emotional ties to Barca. In saying this however, there could be doubts over whether remaining at the Nou Camp is the best choice for his career.
They go on to state that Arsenal do have first refusal on the Spaniard, but whether Arsenal actually make a move for the former captain is still unclear.

Personally speaking, I can definitely see Manchester United attempting to make the move for Fabregas, but numerous interviews with Fabregas himself suggest he would only return to the Premier League in an Arsenal shirt.
Many Gooners accepted Fabregas’ departure in good spirit, but that would all go out the window if Fabregas were to sign for the Red Devils alongside his former Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie.
The key question here is whether Arsenal actually need Fabregas in their ranks with key additions needed more up front and in defensive midfield. The answer would be that he would be more of a luxury signing rather than a necessity.
If I absolutely had to choose between Fabregas and a top-class defensive midfielder or striker, I would choose the latter. Players such as Fellaini or Higuain would fit this description. But with Arsene rumoured to have £70m war-chest along with the fact a number of flops are finally due to come off the wageroll, I think we could accommodate a luxury signing for once!
He is world-class and was unrivalled when it came to vision and range of passing in the Premier League. I would welcome him back with open arms, but whether Wenger thinks the same is yet to be seen.
What do you guys think? Should Arsenal make a move for Fabregas if he was willing to leave Barcelona? Feel free to leave a comment below!
