After a shaky start to his Arsenal career, Petr Cech reminded many just why his arrival to our club was heralded after producing a wonderful display against Liverpool on Monday.
In a first half where we could’ve easily been a number of goals behind, Cech single-handedly kept us in the game with an inexperienced centre-back pairing in front of him.
Having denied Christian Benteke with a save which was astonishing, the 33-year-old then stretched all of his 6’5” body to tip Philippe Coutinho’s wonderful effort onto the post.
The footballing world, including the likes of Manchester United’s David De Gea and former Liverpool star Pepe Reina, all took to Twitter in order to have their say after witnessing one of the greats at his best.
If there was any doubt as to whether or not the former Chelsea man was still in his prime, his display at the Emirates Stadium answered all the critics and put them firmly back in their place.

Hopefully, Cech will not be required to produce those kind of displays on a weekly basis, but it’s certainly a good insurance policy to have.

Petr Cech has to pretend he’s enjoying all this. He looks like a game exhausted dad dragged out to a disco
