Despite suffering a scare in the second half, Arsenal managed to hold on to record their sixth consecutive Premier League win after a narrow 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring in the 24th minute before adding a second only four minutes later. John Carver’s side scored three minutes into the start of the second half courtesy of a Moussa Sissoko strike, but the goal wasn’t enough to stage a comeback as the Gunners held on to the lead. The victory cemented Arsenal’s third place in the Premier League table, only four points behind leaders Chelsea who have two games in hand.

It was a hard fought victory no doubt about that, but props to team for hanging on.
Hard fought 2-1 win. We kinda made things difficult for ourselves but credit to Newcastle for making it a great game for the neutrals.
