Robin van Persie may well be staying in London next season if his wife get’s her way. Mrs Van Persie has declared their family are happy and settled in England’s capital city which will go some way to settle some fans nerves about their captains future with contract negotiations fast approaching.
The Dutchman who has been in sensational form this season, is only one goal away from equalling the Premier League goal scoring record held by Shearer and Ronaldo of 31 goals in a 38 game season. With only one year on his contract there is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the prolific striker’s future.
Wenger will not want to loose his star player for free next summer, but also naturally does not want to sell his prized asset at the end of the current season. One big deciding factor is Champions League qualification which is the Gunners hands with an away win needed against West Brom tomorrow, but despite all the transfer speculation surrounding her 28-year-old husband, Bouchra Van Persie believes their family will also have a part to play in his future. She told The Mirror:
We have been in London for eight years now. As a family, we love it here.
Robin is captain of Arsenal and, as many people claim, the leader of the Arsenal team.
Arsenal believed in Robin when he was young and when he was considered as a bit of a rebel.

We don’t want to upset things at home either. Our kids, Shaqueel and Dina, go to school here in London. And they are just as happy as we are.
We still expect to sit down after this season is over and have a look at the future.
We have to make some decisions at some point. But it is not just about Robin. He also thinks about us, his children and me.
I also love it that everyone at Arsenal respects him. At the training ground, at the stadium, his teammates, the fans.
Everyone comes up to me all the time to tell me how happy they are with him.
I also see that Robin is really kind to everyone at Arsenal in return. As a skipper should be!
A good captain should be concerned about the club, about the team, about everything involving Arsenal. Oh, and in the meantime, I have been promoted to ‘skip’s wife’.
Van Persie’s mother, Jose, has also joined in on the action of convincing her son to stay at the Emirates as she believes that is where he belongs, she said:
Arsenal is a beautiful club. They have no debts and Robin is being worshipped there.
I honestly feel that the fans and the people at the club really love him. That is worth so much, too.
When we go to Arsenal and we walk into the stadium with him, it is electrifying.
As a mum, that fills me with pride. It is really fantastic. When Robin’s granddad, my dad, was over at the Emirates for his (91st) birthday and we were taking pictures inside, I heard grown-up people behind me say: ‘We love Robin’. As a mum, I could not wish for a nicer thing.
Robin van Persie insists he loves the club and the environment especially as he now knows everyone on first name basis, he is the club captain, his family is happy and settled in London and now he will get a significant pay increase when he signs a new contract. He may one day return to Holland but for now his families life is in London and it looks more likely than not that he will re-sign this summer IF the Gunners win at West Brom to qualify for the Champions League.
The circumstances surrounding his future is far different than with Na$ri and Fabregas who were younger and only had themselves to think about (and their wallet – Na$$$ri), but Van Persie has the opportunity to become a club legend and write his name further into the record books like Thierry Henry. It is clear that Arsenal are heading in the right direction now with the side a brillant mix of young blood, excitement, finesse, physicality and strength which hasn’t always been the case in recent seasons. It’s not surprising that Nasri left when Fabregas and Clichy jumped ship and it looked like the Gunners were heading downhill, but Van Persie can become the new “Mr Arsenal” and guide us to some trophies next season as this has been his first full injury-free season in Arsenal colours.
What do you guys think of Mrs Van Persie’s comments? They have helped to settle the nerves as it very positive to hear that their whole family is settled and happy in London, and the last thing RVP will want to do is pick up and skip country to Spain or move to Manchester. Will his families needs and his love for the club be enough for him to commit the rest of his career to the club?
