Arturo Vidal has been named as one of our top transfer targets this summer, with reports even suggesting a move was set to be completed following the conclusion of the Copa America, according to the Metro.
It seems there is little truth in the recent rumours however, as his agent has recently denied that there has been any contact between himself and Arsenal, as reported by Goal.
The 28-year-old is currently away on international duty for the Copa America, and is looking to help guide Chile to the trophy.
The rumours have all pointed towards a move for the midfielder, as a move away from Juventus certainly doesn’t seem out of the question. His agent has rubbished reports linking him with us however, insisting that there has been no contact whatsoever.
“I’ve not had any contact with Arsenal,” said his agent, as quoted by Goal.

We are badly in need of midfield reinforcements, with Francis Coquelin currently our only dedicated defensive midfielder. Vidal is more of a box-to-box player however, so it has seemed surprising that we have been linked with him so heavily.
I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing him arrive at the Emirates, but our money could certainly be better invested elsewhere.
