Arsenal’s first-team stars have been predicting which young player they expect to make a breakthrough from the academy side this season and, as usual, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered a cheeky comment regarding his choice.
In fairness, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s selection was echoed by most of the other senior stars involved in this segment, introduced by Arsenal Player, where the players revealed who they have high hopes for.
Jeff Reine-Adelaide‘s name came up on multiple occasions, although our No.15 proceeded to call him “Jeff” for one specific reason – he can’t pronounce his surname.

“I think the breakthrough star will be; either Chuba Akpom or Jeff…..can’t pronounce his second name yet,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told our media channel.
“Both amazing talents and they’ve already played with us all pre-season, they’ve played a few games and we’ve already seen how talented they both are.”

Adelaide, which is what we assume he’d like to be called given that it’s what the club has printed on the back of his shirt, made many stand up and take notice with his Emirates Cup exploits.
At the tender age of just 17, the young midfielder showed immense power and skill to prove himself worthy of the faith Wenger showed in him and his breakthrough into the first-team may well be imminent.
