Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla has called on the club to add another striker this summer in order to help Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck carry the load next season, the Express reports.
Cazorla cited the strain placed on Giroud in the second half of the season while Welbeck was struggling with various niggles and the Spaniard hopes we can address that area of the squad.
One injury to either of our current options leaves us in an avoidable predicament and when challenging a Chelsea side possessing three top strikers in their squad, we must aim for something similar.

“Yes of course, because Danny had an injury,” Cazorla was quoted as saying in the publication when asked about adding a striker to our squad this summer.
“We had only Giroud up front. It’s better if we sign a new striker for the team and for the club.

“We want to be more regular. Last season we lost so many points against small teams at home – Hull City for example – and if we want to win the league we can’t lose those points.”
As a club, we’ve certainly entered uncharted territory with our first team players openly calling for the club’s hierarchy to address certain areas of our squad.
Previously, many would’ve been afraid to be perceived as players stepping into areas of the football that doesn’t concern them, but Cazorla certainly isn’t part of that group.
Ultimately, the little magician is only echoing the statements of many around the world and hopefully Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis can put our hopes into practise.
