Arsenal starlet Chuba Akpom produced a moment of magic against Mexico U-20s at the Toulon International Youth Festival as England’s U-20 side were beaten for the first time in the competition.
Akpom couldn’t repeat his heroics from last week when he netted the winner against Morocco, but his latest trick is another illustrious of his mercurial talents.
The 19-year-old has made strides in the first team this season before heading out on loan at Nottingham Forrest for the final few months of the campaign.
Arsenal transfer news
Akpom was tearing apart the U-21 league which led to a brief promotion to the first team where he made a number of cameo appearances. His most impactful moment came in our 5-0 Premier League thrashing of Aston Villa in February when he won the penalty to make it 4-0 with some explosive forward play.
The young striker seems to possess all the attribute to succeed as a central striker for us but is now at an age where he needs games. Hopefully, the club can sort out a Premier League loan for him to allow Akpom to test himself against the best on a weekly basis.
