Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has finally arrived at this summer’s Copa America in his native Chile after netting a sensational diving header in a 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia as the hosts topped their group.
Alexis played a supporting role in recent games, registering an assist for Queens Park Rangers forward Eduardo Vargas in the opening game before having a goal disallowed in the 3-3 thriller against Mexico.
Chile are one of the favourites for the competition alongside Argentina, especially after Neymar’s moment of madness in Brazil’s heated encounter with Colombia ruled him out of the competition after he received a four-match ban for headbutting a player (via BBC Sport).

After a physically demanding season, the levels Alexis has once again reached in a major international tournament is remarkable and is testament to a player who is mostly at ease when placed on a football pitch.
However, our Player of the Year is still human and must be treated as such, with a long holiday hopefully beckoning as we prepare to launch a realistic title challenge next season.
