Arsene Wenger finally ended his Jose Mourinho hoodoo at Wembley on Sunday following our Community Shield victory, but that still didn’t encourage the boss to make peace with his adversary.
As Mourinho stood at the bottom of the steps, waiting for our squad to emerge from the Royal Box, the Portuguese coach shook the hand of all our players.
Naturally, Wenger was at the back of the queue and instead of walking the same path as the players, he swerved Mourinho and walked behind Chelsea manager, refusing to be a part of his theatrical act.
After the presentation, Mourinho confirmed to reporters that he stood at the bottom of those steps to congratulate every member of the squad and staff, claiming that it was Wenger who blanked him.

“I was at a point that you only miss me if you want to miss me and every Arsenal player came in my direction which was the easiest thing to do because I was just there,” Mourinho was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

“If other people didn’t come in my direction that is not a problem, not a story and not the end of the world.”
Considering that we have signed Petr Cech, landing another blow before the season has begun will certainly strengthen the belief of our team.
Psychologically, it was also nice for the players to relieve the manager of that embarrassing record against Mourinho which gives us a good platform to launch a title challenge.
